When are You Going to Learn that Hold’em Poker is About Position!

I’ve been betting poker now for about five years, I’ve played cards my entire life starting with games of Gin Rummy for pennies with my Grand Mother, to all of the various forms of Brag and general random games such as Go Fish, Crash and one so eloquently called, card on head game. I used to usually win, whatever game we were playing and even though I liked to call it skill, it was incredibly tough to warrant considering the randomness of the games we were betting, so I was pleased to accept I was having an extended run of luck.
Then came Poker, or much more importantly Holdem Poker, made popular by a group of Texas card gamblers in the 60’s and since developed into one of the largest card phenomena ever observed. Poker is totally the new black, it can be ultra cool with a lot of of the world’s leading celebrities racing to have their name connected with it. Just a quick flick via the TV channels nowadays and you are able to not escape from poker, and needless to say there’s the fabled World Series of Poker, the Holy Grail and Mecca all rolled into one for every single player.
So with all of this fresh found recognition, with so many Tv shows dedicated to poker, and magazine and book shelves filled up with quality material written by the foremost minds on poker, when are people going to learn that this casino game is all about position!?
Perhaps I ought to not receive so worked up about this, after all the a lot more folks who wrestle with the subtle techniques and methods necessary for winning regularly at Texas hold’em, the far better it can be for everyone else, appropriate? I mean, if they can’t be troubled to look at all of the accessible info about why placement is so critical, why should we bother? We must just be happy there is another fish at the table!
It is true, we must not reward laziness with advice and help. Even so, I liken this to a welcoming game of football. Naturally the stakes are not so superior, except when you observe a player struggling, you aid them, provide them several advice, ultimately showing them a way to like, love and be thankful for the game as much as you. I’m asking all house gamblers to do exactly the same thing with their poker buddies who haven’t quite got a handle on the nuances of betting position. Aid them to grow their respect for the game. Naturally, do not attempt to try this one in your neighborhood gambling den, the sharks won’t take pleasure in you instructing their meal how to swim!
