No-Limit Hold’em Poker- Who is Howard Lederer?

Howard Lederer lived in a family of 5 in which he enjoyed playing numerous card games when he was young. He discovered himself getting very competitive in these particular card games while playing his father. After finishing secondary school, Howard decided to put college on hold for a little bit and moved to New York to participate in some serious chess. While participating in chess, he was brought in to a poker game going on in the back of the room. Howard’s 1st two years were rough as he would play many hours and don’t win most times. He made some extra cash by being an runner for the poker players. He believed he could better his game by balancing his life outside of poker. He made an attempt to acquire more rest and focus attention more on poker.
The actual advancement in his abilities began when he began playing at the Mayfair Club in New York City. The Mayfair was a bridge and backgammon club where the greatest players would often challenge one another. Howard had access into a few of the foremost minds in chess. With their help, Howard Lederer would tweak his cunning thinking techniques. Howard applied these strategic ideas to the game of No-Limit Texas Holdem.
Howard also helped his sister Annie Duke learn the game of poker. She was an excellent student of poker as she would always be asking questions about the right way to make the correct decision. He told Annie Duke to move out to Vegas and play in the World Series of Poker tournaments. Annie is one of the strongest women players the poker arena today. Howard relocated to Las Vegas in 1993 and played cash games for the following 10 years. When the WPT gained popularity, Howard made the decision to participate in more tournaments.
