Online High Stakes Poker- Gus Hansen
Saturday, 2. July 2022
Gus Hansen experienced an amazing year on the World Poker Tour where he was the only one to achieve last table in three of the events. Gus Hansen has appeared on High Stakes Poker on The Game Show Network where he bought into the game for $400, 000. You may recall one of the largest pots in big stakes poker history against Daniel Negreanu. He secured a massive pot with 4 of a kind against Daniel’s full house. Hansen has earned many televised poker appearances and is deemed to be one of the strongest bettors around the world. While gambling on net poker, a different side of Hansen has emerged. He regularly plays in the 200/400 No Limit maximum buy-in of $40, 000. Gus frequently buys-in for the min of Sixteen Thousand dollars and plays very poorly. He waits patiently for a good hand and then pushes all in. I accept that Gus is an amazing poker player but not even close to the familiar players at 200/400NL. Unless Gus is penniless, he has no reason to sit at the game with the min buy-in.
Playing for the minimum takes a majority of the expertise out of big stack poker. Gus is presumed to be one of the best poker players anywhere in the world but he cannot buy in for the full dollar value. I think television can skew our perception of the real world every now and then. The best poker players anywhere in the world may be guys you have will not have heard about. Gus can be found playing net poker on Full Tilt. He usually participates in high stakes omaha eight-or-better and texas hold’em. Gus Hansen has proven himself as a competition player. Can he back up his abilities in cash games?
