Wednesday, 27. January 2016

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the number one poker contender on the planet by most of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to NJ before reaching the age of 1. His grandfather introduced him to penny-ante 5-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was addicted to poker and wished to learn everything he could about poker. He routinely would tell his parents that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t permit the negative feedback from other people destroy his ambition of being one of the greatest poker competitors in the world.

Phil started playing seriously after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He sharpened his abilities at the poker rooms of Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a teaching period and winning wasn’t a normal thing at the time. He became known at the 2000 WSOP where he made 2 final tables and won his first WSOP bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha event. At the final table he destroyed quite a few of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

Phil decided to take his game to the successive level and headed out west to Vegas. Phil continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players on the planet. Phil credits his achievements to discipline and an immeasurable love for the game of poker. He says that he is picking up skills every day and is very humble about his success. He knows he makes mistakes every single game of poker and constantly strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some large tournaments, he prefers winning money games on a regular basis.
