Pai Gow Poker is a current game with old ancestry. Built on the ancient Chinese tile game and the current American version of poker, Pai Gow poker marries the east with the western in an excellent game for new gamblers.
Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler vs. the house, not like nearly all other poker games that players compete against other players. By gambling against the dealer, beginning players don’t need to be concerned about any other, more knowledgeable people winning their cash.
A further Pai Gow edge is the relatively leisurely game play, rookies are able to take their time and strategize while not needing to make hasty selections.
It is also easier to play for a very long time with only a small bit of money after all, to lose, both of your hands must be lower than each of the houses hands.
Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card common deck and one joker. The gambler is assigned 7 cards face up and the casino is given 7 cards faces hidden.
One five card hand and one two card hand have to be made from the 7 cards, the 5 card hand has to be higher than the two card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be better than the casino’s.
